I am a Licensed Marital and Family Therapist with 20 years experience helping individuals and couples just like you live their lives more vibrantly and creatively. I consider it a privilege to be a part of my clients' growth and success.
I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Secondary Education teaching credential from William Jewell College in Liberty, MO. I received a Master of Arts degree in Marital and Family Therapy from Phillips Graduate Institute in Encino, CA. I then did advanced training in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy at the Los Angeles Institute for Psychoanalytic Studies. I had extensive training at a local community clinic working with a diverse population of clientele with a wide range of clinical issues. I am also a trained and Certified Laubach Reading Tutor.
My treatment modalities include Psychodynamic Therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Family Systems Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy, among others.
I am a member of the Glendale (CA) Area Mental Health Professionals Association. There I served on the Board of Directors as a member at large and guest newsletter columnist. I am also a member of the San Fernando Valley and Orange County chapters of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists, as well as state CAMFT. I regularly participate in continuing education seminars and workshops on such topics as creativity, neuropsychology and biopsychology, law and ethics, emerging holistic technologies, trauma treatment, addiction, mindfulness and yoga training.
Growing up in southern Indiana and Missouri with my parents and four siblings, including an identical twin, my childhood was emotionally rich. For many years I have resided in Southern California. My interests include arts and literature, yoga, friendships, hiking, gardening, interior design and poetry.
