Many of you have arrived at my website after reading articles in popular media about the traits of HSPs. Again, welcome!
If you are seeking more information and/or you are unsure if the traits of HSP describe you, I can help. I am pleased and privileged to have over 20 years' experience working with HSP clients. Please do feel free to contact me for a free 30 minute consultation if you are interested in working with a therapist familiar with HSP traits.
An excellent resource for you is a book by Elaine Aron, Ph.D., called The Highly Sensitive Person, 1996, Birch Lane Press. Included there is a self-test entitled "Are You Highly Sensitive?"
This trait is not a mental illness. Having a sensitive nervous system is normal. It is not something to be overcome, but rather to be celebrated. Most HSPs who seek psychotherapy have excellent outcomes because their natural way of being is to engage in deep processing of all they experience. However, because this trait is misunderstood and undervalued in our culture, many HSPs may be dealing with depression, anxiety and persistent lack of self-esteem.
My training and experience working with these difficulties, along with being an HSP myself, enable me to confidently and compassionately offer my professional services.
Call now at 949-244-3674 for your free 30 minute consultation (by phone or face-to-face). Together we can determine if I am the right therapist for you.
